Meet Taylor
Hey! My name is Taylor Onyinanya (Onyi) and I'm from Plano, TX. I am currently a junior at Prestonwood Christian Academy. I play competitive soccer, and it is one of my passions. It has become a big part of my everyday life. I also have a blog titled M.I.N.D.D that also has a similar mission of bridging gaps in mental health accessibility.
My Story
For the past few years, I’ve strongly desired to learn about the human mind. Being surrounded by a competitive environment academically and athletically, I’ve always wondered how I’ve connected with people who have the same mindset.
I’ve felt pressure to create a certain image of myself, and in doing so I’ve always struggled with immense pressure and stress on myself. Similar to my peers, we share the same stress and pressure, although we grow up in different environments.
In the picture to the right, I organized an event for some of the business club members at my school to go and help volunteer at the King's Academy 5-year celebration.
Propelled to answer the “why” behind how individuals behave, especially how teens are influenced by society and the realm of psychology, I’d like to explore beyond my own perspective. I am interested in feature Q&As with prominent psychology researchers, discussing new techniques that students can use to better enhance their mental health, alongside tips and insights that helped me throughout my journey.
I believe that in today’s society, it is important to bring awareness of mental health, especially among adolescents. Be on the lookout for blog posts written by me!
